Growing Affectionate

Sheen and I encourage frequent hugs and cuddling in our home. We try to be intentional about showing love and voicing it too. It's especially fun right now because Jeremiah will typically repeat the "I love you" phrase even though he may not have the full understanding of it.

Another phrase we use often when hanging out or laying down is "cuddle me." Last night when laying J down to sleep, he leaned over and gave me a big kiss. A minute or two later he said "cuddle me". We use that phrase all the time, but I don't know if HE has has ever said it to me. :)

Shout Out to the Nichols!

Today I'd like to give a shout out to Matt and Myrna. As you can see in this picture, I am stalking them. Or maybe they are stalking me? Thanks to the Google Analytics code I installed in my blog, I am able to see some cool info on my blog visitors. One of the neat things is being able to see a map of where your visitors are coming from. I've had 24 visits from Texas in the last month, 9 if which from Dallas all represented by the orange dots. I can only assume at least few of these visits have come from these friends of mine. I love, support, and miss you guys! (click the image to see the coolness of this report)

Twitter is Valuable

So, Twitter is a pretty amazing invention. If you have an iPhone, and you tweet, I would recommend the twitterfon app. At any given time you can click on the search icon where you can select the Get Trends icon.

Notice, I just clicked get trends and as of right this second, these are the things people are tweeting about in large amounts:

All of these are hot news topics. When you select one of them, you can read all puclic people's tweets on that subject. Or you can search. This is really useful if you are wanting to know more about something that just happened, say Lebron James signed with the T-Wolves, or maybe you want to know more about the event taking place downtown tonight. Just search with a word or two, like I did Vikings, and immediately you see recent news for that:


I won't be going to the Alma high school game tonight, but I bet there will be fans there tweeting about it. So I will just use twitterfon for my instant game news source!

Pomade

Two hair products sat in a wooden drawer,
And sorry I could not use both,
Being the pwny that I am, I stood to stare,
And tried to convince myself as much as I could,
To use the one without the play-er

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was greasy and wanted hair,
Though it did have an orange lid there,
Was not even remotely the same

I shall be telling this with a sigh,
Today and so forth hence,
Two hair products sat in a wooden drawer,
I took the one made from petrolleum,
And that has made all the difference

(I'm out of my regular hair gel so I tried this out today. I've had it for 6+ years and only use it when desperate. Ha!)

Labor Day Weekend

Did a lot of relaxing this weekend, my ideal way of spending Labor Day weekend. We were treated to Olive Garden and Starbux Friday night for Sheens bday. Awesome time! I went dove hunting Saturday morning but we got rained out. Hopefully I'll get to go again real soon.

Nate and Evan hosted a get-together for the holiday. We were able to get outside for a few minutes and harvest a squirrel! Leave it to Uncle Nate to teach J how to hunt...

Side note: I love to compete. So when my bro came outside and said "wanna show those guys up and get a squirrel?" (the other guys) I was delighted. Don't worry y'all, safety was priority.





Sheen and I made a raspberry cheesecake for the party. Looks better than it tasted because I haven't mastered the art of baking a cheesecake in a bath (it was our 1st one). Crust was soggy but the rest was dee-lish:





All in all, a wonderful weekend with family and friends. Now to kick some booty at work....

Scammy

Last night I received an email from a friend telling me about a website (www.shop-2009.com) that sells electronics for cheap. He even said he recently bought an iPhone 3GS, which was believable to me since he recently told me he was contemplating the purchase. The email had a scam-written tone to it, so before I went ahead to purchase anything, I did a quick google on the site. The results immediately confirmed my intuition, so I went to the site to live chat the "support" person.
