Dirt Desire

Dear Jeremiah,

You are a beast. Beast, meaning you've got stunning good looks, massive chic-magnet biceps, and hair that no one can touch; hypothetically of course. We'll have this talk later, like 11 years from now when you will have to turn the ladies down for real, but I just wanted you to know that Mom and I adore you. You got the looks from her. You also got the desire to eat dirt from her.

Dude. You're a beast.
Love,
Dad

Late Night Snack Recipe

Step 1. Find large mixing bowl and cover the bottom with ice cream

Step 2. Add dry non-sugar cereal plus milk

Step 3. Eat like a man, and sleep like a baby

Thanks, Dad, for introducing me to this heavenly snack. I love how the ice cream keeps the meal ice-cold, and as it melts, it creates something better than whole milk. Ice cream milk. DEE-LISH.

The Zorro Stache

What you see is not the result of a week long hunting trip without a razor. No, it was my attempt at a goatee. And sadly, I had this thing for a few months back in the dating years.

The handlebars just didn't come in for some reason, so I was left with a zorro stache.

Anyone else have a unique facial feature? And should I bring the zorro back?

Pitt

So this is what I look like after not shaving all weekend. I have a friend at work that can go 2 weeks without a shadow. Sup with that?

Oh well. At least I was told I look like Brad Pitt.

Recent Photos Worth Posting

Wanted to post a few photos before the time passes by too quickly.

A few weeks ago the Slarks visited. Good times with bubbles, chocolates, and conversation.

Grandma Lisa and JJ

My brother took the pulpit Sunday morning while Pastors were in Abuja, Nigeria. Excellent service.

Nate and Evan blessed us with a beautiful Maple tree to replace the old nasty tree that the storm took out last year. It was an amazing surprise. And here's my boy, learning how to get dirty:

Patty and kids came for Easter. My family also came down, so I was able to get out and hit the links with my dad, bro, and bro-in-law. It was cold, but I enjoyed it tremendously. Always enjoy time with my pap.

Beautiful flower/plant arrangement given from the Yaegers. Nicole is such a creative, talented, thoughtful dudette.

JJ repping one of his many Easter outfits. This one from grandma.

At the Tulsa Zoo, with Patty and kids. I'm sad I didn't snap any pics of them while they were here, but it was a great visit.

That's all for now. Love being able to capture this kind of stuff with my phone.. it's so convenient.

A chip off the ol' block

Some of you may or may not know I was blessed to go to Hanna Montana the movie on opening day [insert sarcasm here]. Apparently Jeremiah and I are like minded, which is why about 45 minutes through the movie, he decided he'd rather ride motorcycle. So we ditched the two-faced southern girl and hit the arcade.

Despite the theater full of little girls commenting on his cuteness, it was like he said "sorry babes. I gotta go ride" and jumped on the sport bike pictured above.

We Were Egged!

Two weeks ago someone thoughtful egged us. We came home to a fun filled basket of toys and goodies for the whole family.. and money too! Unfortunately we didn't make the time to pass on the egging.

So to the generous friends that egged us, we apologize for not passing it along. Maybe we were smoked from gobbling the goods. Maybe we were entrapped by the mountainous munchies. Or maybe I was just too busy being the Easter bunny himself. Like last Sunday, the AG special guest, ya know?

The Turning Point: April 8th, '09

God spoke to me so loudly last night during service. In fact, I have never experienced the voice of God like I did last night through the message that was taught. It was like no one was there, just me and God. And the message was so loud. So loud that it almost hurt my ears, so loud that afterwards, I could never give God the excuse "I wasn't sure what you meant by that..." Loud.

I began to tear up, eyes swelling with tears of conviction/hope/thankfulness, trying to hold it in so others wouldn't see me. Now, I expect to look back at this blog post over the course of the coming months and refer to it as "the turning point". Last night was the turning point for me.

In case you weren't there, it was a message taught on diligence. Sounds like a simple subject, right? I agree. But I also know that when you show up to church with a hungry heart expecting to hear from God, and expecting to receive revelation from God, and you fully intend to focus and block out all distractions... you WILL hear, and you WILL receive.

Another JJ Post

I've come to the conclusion that most of my blogging will probably continue to be family stuff, especially Jeremiah. He's just so likable, ya know?
So check it out. After the last techy post, JJ was given a computer program. His first computer program and it came from 'aunt Cort' (the AR Cort). Thank you Cortney, he loves it!

Some of you thought I was making it up. But look. He really is interested. He really is going to be a computer programmer. well... hopefully not a programmer but ya. This is fun.

This is FUN!

Teach that boy some techy.

I am so excited to teach JJ about life and watch him experience it as he grows up. One of the things I expect to teach him about is technology (broad subject, I know). And if he shows interest and asks questions, I will do my best to answer them all or help him get the answers.

He will not be a child that has never seen a computer, or the lense of a camera, or an iPhone, or a wootybakka. He's seen all those and is learning how to use them.

He is going to aide in the preparation of the church for Christ's return, and I guarantee technology will be used for this. It already is. Before long, he will be teaching me things.. what an awesome thought.
