Easter Thoughts

Easter has been on my brain for the last few days, so I figured I'd post a few of my recent thoughts on the matter.

1 - Easter is such a glorious, glorious holiday. Just the thought of Jesus being raised from the dead after three days... man, it is so exciting.. so amazing.

2 - We got egged. Not with real eggs, though. I'll share more later. Maybe.

3 - This song. This one, reminds me of Easter and lately I CANNOT STOP LISTENING to it. It is so anointed. Listen to it through the end. You will be glad you did.

The Anthem - Planetshakers

4 - We bought Jeremiah some stuff for Easter. I'm excited to see his chubby little cheeks shake with glee when he sees his wagon thing, and also when he eats his cadburry cream eggs.

Sarah-Bear Night Mode

In honor of my little sis' birthday today, I'd like to grab something from the memory box...

It was my responsibility to provide her a ride home from a far away place, back when I was 20 years old or so. At this time, she had no car, the same time I had a sweet ride: 2002 VW Passat 1.8turbo, 5-speed.

As we weaved through the late night traffic in downtown Minneapolis, I remember her and I putting on sunglasses and dubbing it ?Night Mode.? We were so cool. What a great memory.

For Such A Time As This - by Jordan Baker

I read this from Staci's blog this morning.. something Jordan wrote. It ministered to me greatly, so I wanted to share with you all. God is so faithful to give me His word that I need, when I need it:

"I know this is long, but this Word that God has been showing me has set me straight on some things. So, I figured it might help someone else too!

I am through letting life just happen to me.

In Proverbs 29:18 it says, "If people can't see what God is doing (revelation), they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what He reveals, they are most blessed."

Every individual person has a call or destiny for their life. It's that thing you know in your heart you were made to do. Whether or not you know exactly what that is right now, you know in your heart it's there. We have to see what that is to complete it. It's vital as the body of Christ that we have vision for our lives. Many times I've thought to myself, "How in the world am I ever going to know what I'm really supposed to be doing on this earth?" Well, who better to ask the purpose of something than the creator of it? Think about this. You just created this wonderful invention that you knew would cure every problem for your friend. But, the friend you gave it to didn't listen to your instructions on how to use it or even what it was for! So this amazing thing you made just sits and collects dust...never to be used. Now think back to how God feels about us! He created each of us with a unique purpose and He just wants to show us how to fulfill that. He doesn't want the gifts He's placed inside of us to just sit and collect dust and never be used! God wants so badly for us to know what He made us for and how to fulfill that!! He doesn't want us to be lost and confused wondering if we'll ever reach the end of the race! So, how do you tap into that revelation of your purpose? Spend time with Him. Pray with Him. Converse with Him. Actually get to know Him. When you do, His purposes and desires will become your purposes and desires. And in Psalm 37:4 it says, "Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart."

I don't want to spend my whole life like this verse says, stumbling all over myself. I want to know and attend to what He reveals.

Destiny isn't just something that comes up in climactic points in your life and in big decisions you're making. It isn't something that starts up when you're an adult. This is for you and me, here and now. Every step we take in this life leads to somewhere. We're not just going to end up where God has planned for our lives just because it's God's will. It takes that focusing on Him and praying out every step of the plan.

When I think about my whole life this way, it takes away all guessing and haphazard moves. It makes my reliance on the Lord sky rocket because I know that it's in Him and His grace (God's ability) that my whole life will be complete and I will finish my race with joy.

We were born for such a time as this.

This is our time.

This is our generation.

We will take this world for the name of Jesus.

I pray that God is illuminating as much to you as He has been to me along these lines!"

Doctor Bub

There are many joys of parenting that I've experienced so far. Bubbles included. Here's a 26 second clip from Monday.

I think one of the greatest joys I anticipate is involving vehicles; anything with a motor. It might be a dirt bike, go kart, something... probably not until he's potty trained though.
Maybe.

Announcement Guys - Update

-Our video production studio at church is being moved into a larger room for the Announcement Guys, allowing our green screen to be about 9 feet tall, and more than 12 feet wide, which basically equals more options, better quality stuff, and a really excited tall/skinny guy.

-We also started trying to be more proactive with planning these episodes, hopefully allowing us to leverage our creativity (and other's) to the fullest potential. We already have something sketched out for the next episode which may or may not include a wild turkey. It will air on 3/15.

Slark Crew

The Sheen and I have ALOTTA familiy, which means we get to see family multiple times a year.

Like this weekend for instance. Sheen's dad and step mom are coming down, along with their dance-star daughter, motocross-champion son, and Lisa's parents.. so this should mean we have the following in store:

-lots of laughs
-lots of coffee/espresso
-lots of motorcycling (I wish)
-lots of catching up
-lots of digitalness (I finally finished the install of our hdtv with computer hookup.. allows me to show family vids, pics, anything from computer on tv.. and I think they're bringing a wii too)
-lots of horseplay by Sheena (apparaently)

After this visit.. there is an Easter family visit planned.. more on that later. But for now, well tonight, my wife will have me cleaning. yay.

Build a Baby

Until this morning, I didn't know that technology now allows someone to choose the sex, hair color, eye color, skin color and other traits of their baby. You can read the article here if desired.

This raises a lot of questions for me, mainly WHY?

Update: I like Becky's question better: "what are they going to do if they don't get what they ordered?" Seriously. This is a baaaaaad thing.
