Isaiah Andrew Breaths First Breath

Here we are only a day after our second son was born. The short version of the story is this: About a month ago we scheduled Sheena to be induced for the birth of Isaiah on 12/18. Sheena began having small contractions the day before and leading up to the appointment. She was admitted at 6:30am to labor/delivery room and was dilated to approx 2 cm. Mona and Cortney came to support her for the whole day, while Evan hauled Jeremiah to and fro and kept wonderful watch over him, also supporting "The Sheen" at the hospital. By approximately 10:30am she was at 4 cm. A little after noon she was ready to push. Everyone immediately became ecstatic. I got my text message draft saved and ready to send. The nurse coached Sheena through her sequences of pushing. I stood proud and supportive at her side. The doctor was quickly called in, and after only a couple more pushes, beautiful Isaiah was laying on momma. It could be said that my breath was taken away as Isaiah's was given.

Here is a link to a few pictures.

The emotional impact you experience when seeing your child take their first breath of air cannot be put into words. Period. Just know that is very emotional and special for us.
We are so thankful to our Heavenly Father, that He would entrust us with this child. Sheena and I are committed and dedicated to raising him up according to the standards of God's word. His Word is first place in our family.

How is it possible that your wife looks so good after giving birth? You are a blessed man Jake.

Can't wait to meet him in person.
How did you like scheduling the birth? What was your reasoning? Just curious. If I were you I'd probably want to schedule mine too if the due date was Christmas Eve. This way he'll be able to enjoy his birthday and Christmas separately. Now you get to enjoy Christmas as one big happy family! Glad the induction went well for you guys! A lot of people don't have that great of results. :) Congratulations again! Seriously, take soooo many pictures right now because even after 1 week, they grow sooo fast (They grow the most 0-3 months, then 3-6, and then it starts slowing down from 6-12mths)
Love you guys!!!

Scheduled it for several reasons, mainly the timing of everything: work/holiday/visitors/vacation plus Sheena delivered Jeremiah on her a own a week early so figured it would be about the same with #2, if not then earlier. Didn't do it for the reason of b-day/christmas copout. For that, we are thinking about doing the half birthday thing: celebrate fully on june 18th, partially on dec 18.

I have heard of people having problems with inductions, but not very many especially from healthy pregnancies. None of our friends either, plus doctor did not foresee any issues, and thats exactly how it went. perfectly. absolutely no problems, could not have gone better.

Isaiah is such an incredibly cute and healthy baby. we are so blessed. AND, Jeremiah loves him and is not acting up like a lot of kids do when they receive a new sibling. Sheen has such good mothering qualities too. we are a very blessed family. just looking back on God's goodness regarding this whole process is overwhelming.
