I Passed the Test! Twice!

Some of you may remember a small incident I posted a short while back, here.
If you haven't read it yet, go do so. Now.

Seriously. Go read it, then read this:

Last night I was driving to church with my cool family, when all of a sudden a white Dodge Caravan pulled out in front of me. Immediately thoughts bombarded my dome like firey darts: "lay on the horn" "pass on the shoulder then slam on your brakes" "pass on the double yellow then slam on your brakes", etc, etc... But then I thought, "anh, I should probably just pass the test." So I did what any 16 year old girl fresh out of watching Driver's Ed road rage films would do, and politely slowed down without honking my horn. I very badly wanted to, but I took a deep breath and fixed my mind on good things. Like church. Sheena then looked over at me with a sparkle in her eye and said "good job."

She said that because she knew my blood was boiling with rage at that very moment.
So that's what I call passing the test. But then TODAY:

I was minding my own business on my way to work while driving in the left lane, when all of a sudden a goon in a white Stratus decides he wants to come into my lane. In front of me. Even though there wasn't room. Right then is when thoughts started entering. "Call him a goon" "lay on the horn" "pass him on the shoulder" etc, etc.

Needless to say I passed the test. Again.

Booya gramma!

Good job Jake!! Seriously! I really need to pass the test in this area - i'm not so much tempted to "do" anything, just words like "you maggot" "idiot" and the likes have been known to fly out. That does it, I'm passing the test next time!! I've been challenged!

Haha..."maggot"!

I can't say that I've actually done anything either, well at least not in the last 2 years or so, :) but the temptation has been there. Man I'm glad this is changing. I've recently been asking Him to show me things I need to change...

Ha! Ha! Sounds like this runs in the family. I was with Nate the other day and the same thing happened. He passed the test too!!
This is an area I've had to work on as well! It really helps you pass the test when you have a 3 year old in the back seat that either repeats the mean words you said to the person or asks "what's a jerk mommy?" Yeah, that snaps you into shape REAL quick!!!

You come by it naturally Evan from both Kevin and me. I don't do anything with the car but I have been known to use words like dork wad or jerk. Dad tends to keep his mouth shut BUT does use his vehicle with subtlety...cutting them off etc. We are working on that too. One of the flesh things that's gotta go! Way-to-go Jake. Makes me a proud Pasta (get it...pastor) he he he he... Oh for the love!

hahahaha way to go Jakey...I'm glad you didn't say in a voice loud enough so they could hear you through the window to "Wait their turn!" hahaha jk but really...good job!!! :) I hope another (white...it always seems to be a white car) car gives you another situation to pass the test in!
