Christmas Update
We originally decided not to travel North for the holidays. But as Christmas drew nearer, our desire to introduce Jeremiah to our families increased. And so we ended up travelling.
We visited all of our parents and in-laws. Got into an accident on Christmas Eve while bringing Chipotle to Nicole & Jeff's for games 'n such. About two blocks before her house we were side smacked.
Everyone was okay,
Damages incurred were over $1k,
No one was hurt,
And our Chipotle stayed warm like a fresh out-of-the-dryer shirt
It was really nice to be with family though. Just a few pics for memories' sake:
Oh, and in case you don't know what Chipotle is, you pretty much haven't lived life, in abundance, to the full, til' it overflows.

Partners for Life
It was 4am. We hit the road just a bit ago. And even running on just 4
hours of sleep Sheena was all smiles, helping pack Jeremiah and
everything else so we could be on our way. Choosing to chat in the
coche instead of snooze. She is the single sweetest person I know.
Hands down. And she is my wife.
Someone might think that after more than 7 years of partnership that
sweetness would wear off but it's only increased.
Ya, partners for life.

Liqua Drive is for Cool People
Lately I've noticed my coffee consumption increase.
Significantly.
Working extra hours, chillin' with the fam, etc, etc.
So I'm on a call coming down from my 7am cup-o-jo and then I opened my office cabinet...
Liqua Drive. Come getcha some!

Our Little Man is 4 weeks old today. Not sure where all that time went. I could've sworn it was just last night that he was waking me up every hour. Oh wait, it was.
Seriously, the rate of time itself is too fast.
Dang, it's already 7:30, I gotta go to work. See? Too fast.

Nothing like a good ol' Christmas snowball fight.
Sheena #2
I was just told (again) that Jeremiah looks just like his mother. All I have to say is GOOD.
I wouldn't have it any other way.
Hopefully he will also inherit his mother's smile.
What's your vote? Is he a Jake Jr. or is he a Momma's Boy?

Cartwheel
Have you ever seen a 3 year old do a cartwheel?
I present you Matthew John Schlegel:
Feeling Kinda Weird Right Now
I've been working in this temporary training position for more than a year. And during that year I have a made a few friends, specifically the folks I work with. I am 1 of 4 that were hired for a temporary spot, with no promise of further employment after finishing this project.
I just found out today from my 3 other friends that their last day will be before the end of this month. Which means I'm the only one staying. I am sad. I am also humbled. And thankful. How is it that I am able to secure a new position, with better rewards, when my friends are told there are no available positions? Does it have to do with work ethics? How about personal issues? Or is it just their destiny? I don't know. But I do know that God honors faithfulness.
I cannot say that I've been entirely faithful in this position for the last year, but when I have become less faithful, God has prompted me to turn back around. Honestly, I know this corporate world is not my calling. In fact, if I would have been given that same Letter of Termination, I may have been somewhat glad. Sound weird? I agree.
But I will continue to be faithful.
The steps of a good man are directed and established by the Lord when He delights in his way and He busies Himself with his every step.
Psalms 37: 23
Old
In case you were wondering what old looks like:
Speaking of Itches
I'm still itching to get an iPhone. Actually, it's more like a rash. A large, evolving nevermind.
Anyways, there's rumors of a new iPhone model complete with 3G capabilites n' whatnot coming out in about 7 months. And being that AT&T has graced the Ft. Smith area with 3G coverage, it would be even better. Not sure if I can wait that long though.
Must. Have. Patience.
Itchy Scratchy
If you have an itch, do you scratch it, or itch it?
Certainly you wouldn't itch an itch, would you? Could you? Nope.
So for the record, you cannot itch an itch. You can only scratch it. Or leave it in case you're some loco that likes the feeling of an ongoing itch.
Thanks.
Blur
Last night was a blur.
Got home from work, changed into my duds, went to work with SchNate, got home, ate dinner, went to bed, got up, went to bed, got up, went to bed, got up, changed a diaper, went to bed, got up, went to bed, got up, went to work.

Quote of the Day
"We're to be the church where the anointing of God, the presence of God, the power of God is just squirting out of our pores 24/7."
-Kevin Fletcher
It's Chuck
Ever since we moved South, I have been fascinated by the Southern accent most folks around these parts carry. Even more so, some of the terms and expressions they use.
For example, if you're communicating with someone, and maybe they did not clearly hear what you said, they respond with "do what?" no matter what you were telling them.
...huh? I wasn't telling them 'do' anything. Kinda funny.
OR, some of my friends here insist that if you are going to throw something, another term for throwing is chunk. For example, "I am going to chunk this football." Or "I am going to chunk this pair of shoes because they're about gone anyways." But I (and other normal people) would always argue that it's chuck. For example, "Hey Mary Sue, chuck that football across the field."
Ladies and Gents, you are now allowed to remove the word chunk from your vocabulary:
Not only is the game called Chuck-o, but it's a game of chucking.
*Spotted this while Christmas shopping today. Had to snap the pic.
Ministry Meals
Our church does something called Ministry Meals where church family folks can sign up to donate a dinner usually to families of significant change like newborn babes or other somethings where a meal or 5 or 6 or 7 would relieve some of the chaotic hey he pooped again can you change his diaper type of life events. I think that was a run-on.
Anyways, thank you...
*Philip and Mona for the tasty-sizzling chicken and beef fajitas and beans and rice and guacamole and chips n’ queso and salsa!
*Trent and Jessica for the delectable beef stroganoff and salad with raspberry vinaigrette!
*Waldrop Family for the scrumptious chicken noodle soup/dumplings, green beans, homemade rolls and cookies!
*Schlegel Family for the succulent rotisserie chicken, green beans, French bread, cheesy scalloped potatoes (dang these were good), Caesar salad, homemade cookies, and outfit for J-Man! (My belly was especially full after this meal J )
*Burrough Family for the delicious herb chicken, cheesy potatoes, corn, warm rolls, and warm apple pie (and 1st Christmas ornament)!
*Living Word (compliments of Chef Darlene) for the lip smacking lasagna, French bread, salad, sweet tea, and apple pie with vanilla ice cream
*Landon and Cortney for the sweet lickin gobble-riffic southern style chili n' cheese n' chips (by the way, can we get that recipe? We gobbled on the way up to Rogers)
With all seriousness, from the bottom of our bellies I mean hearts, Sheena and I would like to say THANK YOU. You put our hunger before your own. You did not have to do it, but because you did, you will be blessed. You have sown into good ground. May you reap 100 fold! That’s a lot of meals.
We love you
Yes we do
We love you
And our bellies do to
