Me: Thanks man. You're the coolest 3 year old I know
Matthew: No diggidy, no doubt
5 Minutes
at 8:30 AM
Friday, September 21, 2007
So my wife and I have this rule. It's called "5 Minutes." From time to time one of us may become a little bit crabby. Why, you ask? I don't know. Why do you get crabby sometimes?
Anyways, here is what happens: If one of us perceives the other to be somewhat crabby, then the perceiver has the right to say "you have 5 minutes!" which means they have 5 minutes to prove that they truly are not crabby. And if they are crabby, then they have exactly 5 minutes to get JOY, and prove that the crabbiness is gone before the 5 minutes expire.
So what happens if the crabbiness is not gone, you ask? I'm glad you asked. The crabby partner is indebted a 5 minute back massage to be given upon request of the perceiver. Usually later that night, or in my case I claimed my massage like 2 weeks later.
Here are the guidelines that we established over a period of maybe the last month or so. It seemed like each time one of us was called on, we established a new guideline for this rule:
1. The perceiver is the final judge of whether or not the crabbiness is gone after 5 minutes
2. There is no expiration date on the massage
3. The Massage Minutes can be broken up
4. If you "call" someone, you are required to remember to check on them, therefore allowing the possibility of more than 5 minutes of fix time
5. Once the 5 minute fix time is up, another 5 minute fix time is given, therefore allowing the possibility of consecutive claimed massages
Sheena "called" me this morning and I think I barely made it in 5 minutes. And now I don't remember what I was crabby about. Say crabby 50 times, it sounds funny.
Beam me up, Scotty!

So my good friend Ben emails me the other day stating that my Minnesota DL is suspended. I just have one question:
How many of you can say that you have a friend who looks out for you like that?
Ben, when can I ride-along and help you write tickets? I want to give someone their rights. Back when I got arrested 6 years ago, an officer gave me my rights and I didn't like it.
Now, about the DL... who needs a MN DL when you have a good ol' Arky license?

Poll Results: Mac Wins!
at 10:12 AM
Monday, September 10, 2007
So I had a poll going for about a month asking which is a better computer choice: Mac or PC.
Mac won the poll by a landslide.
Me: Big deal, right?
Johnny: Right. It is.
Me: Is what? A big deal, or a better choice?
Johnny: You Moron
Funny, right?

So I ended up watching High School Musical 2 last night with my wife (confession #1). It was the Dance Along edition. Although I didn't try and follow or mimic the dances, I did somewhat enjoy the movie (confession #2).
John 15:4

Jesus said, "No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me."
-John 15:4 (NIV)
"ONE of the clocks in our office is battery powered. We were unaware that its battery was running down, and the clock was steadily falling behind the correct time. One evening, an employee was still working although it was 40 minutes after closing time. We realized then what was happening.
The Lord spoke to me through this experience. I saw that because a battery-powered clock runs on its self-contained energy source, it will eventually become exhausted. But a clock that is plugged into a wall outlet can run indefinitely, without strain or tension, because it draws not on its own finite energy but on an external source of greater power.
When I try to confront a challenge or an obstacle using my own power, I quickly become exhausted and discouraged. Like the battery-powered clock, I wear down. When we are plugged in to God, our eternal source, we have power that makes everything possible." (Vincent J. O'Brien)
I read this devotional today, and was greatly impacted. It goes right along with some conversation I had with Nate last night. "If you are not consistently in the word, you become empty." There will be nothing flowing out of you, except that of your own effort; which essentially is worthless because you cannot bear fruit unless you REMAIN in Him (Jn 15:4).
Have a word-filled day!
I'm Hungry
at 10:31 AM
Thursday, September 06, 2007
I am very hungry right now and have been since 9:30. I had a satisfying breakfast this morning, but the hunger has really come on and increased since 9:30. I'm tempted to eat my lunch right now, but then I would be hungry again shortly after lunch time.
What should I do? Eating 5 meals a day just doesn't seem very economical.
New iPod with Wi-Fi

Apple just announced like three new products today. One of which is an iPod, that sports the same touch screen and UI as the iPhone, AND it has Wi-Fi.
That's right, you can now surf the web on your iPod.
It is becoming very clear to me. When Apple introduced the iPhone for $500/600, I thought 'why don't they just update their iPod to have that same look/feel/smell? Well they did, they just wanted to wait to release it until after gobs of people switched phone carriers and took the plunge for the iPhone.
NEW iPod Nano
NEW iPod Classic
NEW iPod Touch with Wi-Fi

I'm polling my blog readers in wonder of their computer preference and opinion; Is Apple/Mac better than Microsoft/PC?
