The Sheen and I will be heading North in a few hours. I was home sick with the flu all day yesterday, but I feel pretty darn skippy today. I'm trying to psych myself up for an 11 hour drive non-stop, which will put us in Maple Grove around 5AM tomorrow...

Stay tuned. I will be posting from my mobile device on this trip, and who knows what kind of goodies you'll be in store for.

Two Words

Mac Daddy

Yup, that rot ther is a Macbook Pro, compliments and property of Living Word River Valley.
It will be used primarily for video editing. As you can see, I'm just kickin it on the couch in our new home. Feet up, head back... with the Mac!

So... we finally got settled in, hung a few pictures yesterday and got caught up on our sleep. Still to do:

-Finish Jeremiah's bedroom and furniture
-Finish garage (I'll show you what I mean later)
-Develop the art of video editing on a Mac. I started using it, and it really does function quite differently than a PC, but in a good way.

Oh, and check out this sunrise looking out our kitchen window this morning.

NyQuil Replacement

If you have a hard time getting good sleep at night, TRY THIS!

Don't go to bed until 2AM for three days in a row. By then, you will be getting great sleep, and feel like you've been drinking NyQuil all day long!!!

As of last night, my tally of 'nights in a row for going to bed after 2AM' is now set to 3. I hope to go to bed sooner than that tonight, otherwise it should be the last, since we're moving all our stuff over to our new home after service.

To say the least, I'm sweet-lickin excited!

Changed my Mind

...I think I will blog it afterall.

We closed on our house Friday afternoon. I got a really nice rollerball, blue ink-pen out of the deal, not to mention a gorgeous house to boot.

After closing, we went straight home to munch down some good crockpot food. Then over to Go Deep's youth building where we began demolition; sort of. I will blog about later since there's so much detail, but let's just say that this ministry is being taken to the next level folks. I and many others spent almost all day Saturday on this as well.

Dockey: Did you know that according to a poll: 80% of people sing in the shower?
Other People: Wow...no..hmm...really?...oh, I do... that seems high...
Dockey: And about 20% pee in the shower.
Dockey: Do you you sing in the shower?
John: No
Dockey: Then you must be in the 20%

Following our incomplete efforts at Go Deep around 5 or 6pm, The-Sheen and I travelled to Lowe's to buy stuff. That's right, stuff.

Then on to our new (well, 6 yrs new) house where we deposited blood, sweat and tears to prep our home for a facelift (pics to come)

Jim Hammond was the man on Sunday AM. After that I got my grub on at home, then over to the house again where the facelift continued until 1:30 this morning. Nate, Sheena, and I got a lot done, but there's still tonight and tomorrow night left to finish. Then we will move in on Wednesday night after service, hopefully.

Well, that's all for now folks. Pics of the house to come, and maybe a joke or two.

I is Busy

There is so much that I could blog about, I just don't know where to begin.
So I think I'm not going to blog at all.

Goodnight

Just got done with some painting work for my bro. Big day tomorrow (today) we're closing on our house in the PM and then heading over to the youth building for some installments.
I'm tired.
G'night.

Word Tapes

Stopped by the gas station/truck stop on lunch and noticed a cool little 'FREE' display of Word Tapes. It's cool that there are still businesses in this nation that would allow such piety in thier store, even if it is 90's style!

Plans Purposes and Pursuits

I started reading another book yesterday, Plans Purposes and Pursuits by Kenneth Hagin. An excellent choice on the topic of fulfilling the plan of God on your life. I burned through the first 50 pages and then had to put it down; not because there is so much to chew on, but because I need to make some adjustments in my life. Then I will continue reading and absorb the rest of the book's message.

Hagin took a few pages to stress the importance of first finding your calling, THEN asking God to bless it, instead of the too-common way of doing what you think is a good idea, then asking God to bless that. The message of the book sounds very simple, doesn't it? If it's so simple, then why aren't more Christians doing it?

Spinnin

Who says you can't have fun at a laundry mat?

No seriously though. Can you believe Sheena allowed this?
Maybe she was just happy knowing that next week we'll be doing laundry in our own machines at our own house. Weird? Ya, I know.

Goog 411

In the car right now... Just called Goog 411. Man I love that service. It's like calling 411, but better. 100% voice activated, 100% free. Try it.

Turtle Head Pokin Out

Twas a rewarding weekend. Very wonderful indeed.

The Sheen and I packed up about 1/2 of our belongings since we're going to be moving out soon. I no longer have easy access to glass dishes, the blender, extra boxer briefs (but a sufficient amount if I'm careful), or my DVD burner.

On Saturday I performed another episode of the famous Announcement Guys. I did it solo since we're still in the transition for my new AG partner.

After that, Sheen and I made headway to enjoy the 100 degree weather on Saturday when all of sudden I noticed a 'Turtle Head Pokin Out' of his shell. He was trying to get into our apartment, literally.

I laughed in his face in a nice way. He liked me so much that he wanted to follow me around. Take a look:
video

I clearly saved his merry soul.

Then on Sunday we hit up some church (which by the way was life changing). After church we did a little R&R at the apartment pool.

Me being studly:

Then we did some more R&R at a friends pool with friends and family. It was a nice weekend my furry friendly blog readers. I hope your's was too.

Lunchtime

Look at that glorious detail.

A true American classic. Bologna, lettuce, cheese and mayo on honey wheat.
What'd you have for lunch?

Thoughts on Family

I love my family. I've heard people say that there should be a holiday called Family Day, just like there is a Mother's Day and Father's Day. Over the course of my life I've been taught that there is a Family Day, and for my family it was always Sunday. On Sunday my dad would always be home to spend time with his family, even when he traveled for work. On Sunday he would take his family "bummin" or his boys fishin'. On Sunday our family would go out to Pizza Hut every week after church, and my brothers and I would get monetary rewards for drinking soda through our noses.

Family isn't just a bunch of folks that grow up together. It's people who love and support each other. Who trust and challenge each other to be better people.

I'm on a journey called life, and in this chapter of this journey I am embarking on the true establishment of something called family. I have a wife, and we're expecting our first child soon. How amazing is that? It's a miracle, really. And in this new chapter of our lives, we are going to be responsible for raising a baby up into a fine young man of God. We will have opportunity after opportunity to plant and instill the word of God, values and lessons of life, natural knowledge and understanding, and so many other things into his life. And all this will be held in the realm of something called family. My family.

Father God, I pray that you guide every move I make, and form every word I speak. Above all mold my heart and mind to be one after You and your glory. All I want is You.

You Know You Live in Arkansas When...

...you can go to the grocery store and buy Razorback branded ice cream.

New iMac

I'm 'WOWED' by Apple's announcements today at their Product Press Conference. I followed the updates given by engadget on my phone's web browser. Up until now I have pretty much sorta wanted, sorta needed a Mac. I think now I pretty much hafta have one. I used to not like Macs, but now I do. I like Macs, Google, Cherry Coke and motorcycles.

Lots of beauty here folks. They did away with the white, but the display still sports that "Jay Leno chin".

Nice

No more whiteness

Sunrise

Don't look at the picture below of the sunrise that I captured this morning.

I told you not to look.

That's ok, I couldn't resist either.

American Fashion Statement

I was cruising through the grocery store on Sunday and something caught my eye. Now I'll admit, I'm no fashion guru, but wearing hiked-up dress socks with shorts really stands out as a fashion statement. It tends to say something like "hi, I'm a dad that lives in Arkansas." Something like that.

Water Moccasin

Sheena was approached by a Water Mocasin last night, sort of. :) Anyways, here's the aftermath.

Watermelons

Nate and Evan's garden is now yielding watermelons. We picked a bunch last night, and boy are they delicious!

Here's my studly nephew and a trunk full of watermelons:

And here's my bro with one of decent size (both taken by my shaky-hand cell phone):

I have yet to try a watermelon that came from 'The Garden' and isn't perfect.

I Love My Wife

I just got off the phone with my wife. I am in the process of hunting down the best home insurance provider there is. Well, I came accross Allstate and they provided some attractive quotes, so I called Sheena to get her DL number because if we switch car insurance providers as well, then the rate will drop another 20%.

Anyways, Sheen never answered her phone. I tried again, still no answer. I tried again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, and probably again one more time so that when she saw her phone there would be like 11 missed calls. Finally tried again and she answered.

Me: Hey Babe why don't you answer your phone? I tried like 20 times?
Babe: I don't have any pockets, so sometimes I can't answer it
Me: Too bad
Babe: (Laugh)
Me: I need your Driver's License number
Babe: Ok, hang on. It's 9, 2, 4... wait, I'm not giving it to you until you tell me why you need it
Me: No, just give it to me
Babe: (Laughing) Nope
Me: (Laughing then stopping abruptly) Well...

Anyways, what a Sweetie. I love you Sheena.

Amazing Creator

My commute to work everyday is a smooth 25 minutes of rush hour-free traffic, and probably more often than not I get to enjoy a glorious sunrise. I'm amazed at how consistently beautiful the sunrises and sunsets are here in this area of AR. I managed to snap a few on the way in this morning.

You cannot really look at something so beautiful without admiring the creativity of our Creator, God Himself.

These two are looking out from one of the balcony's at my work, since I work on the top floor.

What an amazing God I serve!
(BTW, ignore the time stamp on the photos. It was really about 7am today)
