Yet another demonstration of God's favor.
We ended up with a combination of Option #6 and Option #7.
The Sprint CSR spoke with her boss and they decided to waive the $400 cancel fee, and simply grandfather us over to Sprint; however, we still received the *NEW Customer Savings*!
So basically we got a sweet-lickin deal! And I also managed to call CS and get on an Employee Discount Plan; we're now saving like 20 bucks a month, and I have unlimited data (internet, etc) on my Q pictured below.
From not-so-glory to GLORY!
Sheena and I will be moving into our new home in about 3 weeks or so, as long as closing and everything else goes good. Whether or not it's true, it seems like we've been house shopping for the past 7 months or more. At one point we thought we were going to build a house so we signed a contract on some land (which we incidentally lost our earnest money for not building on the land).
But, here we are getting ready to have our first baby and also about to finally move into a house again.
It's a nice 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom 1 level house on approximately 1 acre with about 1550 htd sqft, built in '01. Ideal for our situation.

I didn't take the photo, but I plan to be taking many once we get to moving in. We plan to be all moved and settled in before we leave for Trent Fletcher and Jessica (forgot last name)'s wedding in MN, 9/1/07.
Where have we been living for the past 10 months or so?
I managed to find a cardboard box big enough to accommodate both Sheen and me. That is, if Wal-Mart was already closed or kicked us out.
No, actually we've been in a 2bed/2bath apartment. When we moved to AR we rented a house with a contract to buy. And because I don't feel like typing the whole story, let's just say that we took the high road, knowing that God was going to bless us for not suing her brains out. And here we are... being blessed! hahahaha devil! Eat that!
Last Friday I was pulled into the office of a Senior Executive here at Golden Ventures. Her office is right next door to the Senior VP of the company. She introduced herself and began to tell me what she does, and who reports to her, etc. She also knew about my position here, which by the way; I am one of three software trainers training a dietary management software to our Nursing Home Dining Service Managers (approx. 350 facilities) via online, and the project is expected to end before New Year. My employment contract with the company is only guaranteed through the completion of the project. Anyways, back to the story. So she told me that this software would eventually transfer over to her department of other clinical software. She said they are looking for a few people to come on board and handle software analysis and reporting and some other things. She said she had spoken with my supervisor, her supervisor, and others that are currently involved in this thing, and all of them said that if one person of this current project was to stay on board they all say it should be Jake. So, she asked if I’m interested. I gave a resounding yes and she said they plan to make that move once we’re finished with this current software rollout. Now that’s the favor of God!

Well, overall it was a great trip. I must add that the Hamption Inn really knows what they're doing. Their *new* beds are incredible. Seriously.
In case any of you wonder what I'm doing from 8-5... this is it, usually.
After about 2 months of reaserch and debate, The-Sheen and I finally decided on a our next point-and-shoot digital camera.
The Casio EX-Z75
This is an upgrade from our current Olympus 4.0MP grandpa.
It has everything we want and need. Some of it's highlights:
- Superior 7.2 megapixel quality
- .8" thin
- 30fps 640x480 VGA video w/audio recording
- About 30 different modes including an eBay mode for taking great pics of items for selling on ebay and can snapshot clothing tags and text nicely with an ideal resolution
UPS.com is telling me that it's out for delivery right now. I'm itching to get it!

I'm not as thrilled as Sheena is about making decisions based on what looks the cutest, and which shade of blue I like best for Jeremiah, but it will be a great time. I would rather go to Golf Galaxy and pick out his first set of golf clubs.
Maybe we can do that next weekend.
Sheena is officially phoneless and we're currently trying to decide what to do about it. Her phone has been acting up lately and just quit working 2 days ago. We are currently with Nextel (yes, that annoying walkie-talkie cell phone company that teamed up with Sprint) and plan to move on to bigger and better, which could be either Sprint (best deals by far on monthly coverage) or AT&T/Cingular (most popular/cooler phones).
I figured I'd spare the logistic analytical info, and just provide the options
1. Buy her an iPhone (ya right)
2. Get on ebay and buy her a cheapo phone (possible)
3. Do nothing about it, and let her suffer (likely)
4. Give her my phone and let me suffer (not so likely)
5. Ask you to give her your phone (any Nextel users out there?)
6. Switch companys early, pay the $200 each termination fee, and buy new phones for the both of us
7. Wait 1 yr when contract ends, then switch carriers and upgrade phones
Man, all this talk about phones is making me hungry. I should eat her phone.

Hint 'boys'.... that's right, we're having a boy! Jeremiah Jacob Schlegel to be exact, and he will be making a grand entrance on or around November 25th. Stay tuned, I have some Ultrasound video footage to post up.
Sheena and I will be finding out the sex of our baby today! I am ecstatic to say the least. I will be posting later tonight with the results... so be sure and check back.
By the grace of God my lovely wife and I have successfully made a baby, it's just a matter of time before we see the lil blessing.
This is my new blog. I had started one at wordpress, but decided to switch to blogger.com. I like the UI better.
